"Peaceful Antarctica", view of the "Mont des Français" saluting in passing the two campaigns of Commander Charcot (Le "Francais", 1904, 1905; Le "Quand Pas", 1908,1909) which command respect. The Antarctic that my son Luc and I decided to paint based on studies (sketches, oils, watercolors) made appeared to us as what some rightly call the virgin continent.

A continent still preserved, reserved for research and peaceful activities according to the Antarctic Treaty signed in 1958 in the middle of the Cold War, this deserves to be underlined by the great powers. The ice cover that covers the continent is on average 1 nautical mile thick.
